Day 3 of building up my new niche blog means submitting the 3rd post to the blog – the 4th if you count the privacy policy. This post is the last of the initial assault on the niche as far as content is concerned. After today I will be posting on my niche site weekly. For a few small, extremely uncompetitive niches it will be possible to fly straight to the top of the SERPs with the work already done. If that’s the case for you, well done in finding the ultimate in niches.
For the vast majority, however, the work is ahead of us and the site is not even indexed yet. If that’s the case, don’t start to get worried and hit the forums asking why your site isn’t indexed, even after you’ve linked to it every which way. Now comes the repetitive drudgery of getting links for your new site. These links should be anchored with your keyword and variations of your keyword phrase.
The strategy remains the same for me, I’m bookmarking my latest post at a few more social bookmarking sites but I’m going to mix things up a bit by also heading to a few link directories to submit my sites URL to. The link directory links are reportedly out of favor with Google, but be that as it may, they still represent a link and every link can be useful. Five or ten minutes zipping through the link directories can result in 4 or 5 more links down the track.
My first EzineArticles article has been written and is sitting in draft mode waiting until i) the weekend is over and, ii) until I’m sure my quick indexing has stuck.
From this point on I will be doing some content writing: for next week’s post (post number 4), a Hubpages hub, a Squidoo lens and a few more EzineArticles articles. Basically, anything I can use to get more links to my niche site using my keywords as the anchor.
