Submission of Second Post
The second post has been submitted today. This post isn’t quite as long as the first post, only 250 – 300 words, but is still optimised with my keywords in the post title as well as sprinkled through the body of the post. The content is actually quite meaningful in that it is on topic and relevant, however it’s not going to offer anything new to a visitor to the site.
A Suggestion of Where to Get Content
On where I have taken my content from, for this post I have actually turned to the Public Domain for help. To be more specific, I have visited a bunch of US Federal Government sites and used the content from them. The federal government sites content is not copyright protected. I’ve snipped pieces that contains relevant content, inserted my keywords here and there and submitted it. I also bulked it up with my own thoughts and words where I thought I needed to. I’m not after readers, I’m after people looking for a solution and will spot my ads.
Building Links
After submitting my second blog post I embarked on some more link building tasks, this time starting with some RSS feed submissions to feed directories.
In this case I added my feed to : feedbase, feedfury, feedsee, feedplex, plazoo and leighrss.
I followed the feed submissions up with another link from another of my long established general websites. For the post in that blog I simply copied a couple of paragraphs from my niche blog, added a link using my keyword as anchor, added tags and a category and published it. I then bookmarked and submitted the RSS feed of this site to a couple of feed directories too. I’ll be adding links from my own sites at the rate of a couple a day for the next couple of months – slow and steady to avoid being sandboxed.
Indexing
I mentioned in the introductory post about creating a niche site that I expected the site to be indexed in a few days, well I was wrong, the site was indexed today, the day after sending it the first bunch of links. I still expect it to disappear again from Google’s SERPs for about a week or more. That’s to be expected, the only pressing need I have for the site to be indexed in Google is so my EzineArticle submissions will be accepted.
Speaking of EzineArticles I’m in the middle of writing 5 articles of around 250 – 300 words so I can begin an article marketing campaign. 5 articles are enough to create over 50 links in the next 3 months and, if I need to, I can turn them into over 100 links by using RSS feeds, etc. I’ll talk about that in a later post when I actually go through the process. A point to remember, the duplicate content penalty only applies to duplicate content on your own website, soooo many people seem to believe there is a duplicate content over the entire Internet – NOT TRUE.
The third post will be next and will be the subject of the work I’m doing on Day 3 of creating a niche blog from scratch.
